German Bundesliga Predictions for the 2014-15 Season

German BundesligaThe 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil ended with Germany celebrating its fourth victory in the tournament and this brought the country back to the pinnacle of international football. Its premier domestic competition is the German Bundesliga and this has always been one of the strongest leagues in Europe. It is certainly one of the best supported, with average crowds of around 45,000 fans watching the games each week. Many of the superstars of word football play in the league and with German football on a high after its World Cup success, the 2014-15 Bundesliga season is one to look forward to.

German Bundesliga Predictions for the Champion

When it comes to Bundesliga predictions for the champions each year, one team tends to dominate and with good reason. Bayern Munich has always been the biggest team in German domestic football and they have a record of success that is second to none. The league was originally established in 1963, which means it has now been running for just over 50 years, and in this time Bayern have been champions a total of 23 times. This puts them way ahead of any of the other teams that regularly compete in the German Bundesliga standings. In the last couple of years they have been particularly dominant, winning the German Bundesliga by a massive 25 points in the 2012-13 season and an almost as impressive 19 points in 2013-14. They have a number of the recent World Cup winners in their ranks and this includes Thomas Muller, Philipp Lahm, and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Other star players include Arjen Robben of Holland and Franck Ribery of France. This gives them an extremely strong squad that is used to success and it is difficult to see them being anywhere but on top of the league at the end of the season.
The team that has been the closest challenger to Bayern Munich in recent years is Borussia Dortmund. This rise to prominence has been guided by manager Jurgen Klopp, with the club being German Bundesliga champions in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as ending the last two seasons as runners up. While they were expected to run Bayern closer this year, their start to the 2014-15 season has been poor and they recorded as many losses in their opening 11 games as they did in the whole of last season. With quality players in their squad such as Mats Hummels, Matthias Ginter, and Adrian Ramos, they should improve although it already seems unlikely they will repeat their success of recent years. The challenge for the title is more likely to come from teams such as Vfl Wolfsburg, Schalke 04, and Bayern Leverkusen although Bayern already lead the way in the league and its hard to see past them being crowned champions for the third year in a row.

Bundesliga Predictions for European Spots

German soccer predictions for European spots are more difficult to pin down, with a number of teams in with a shot. The top three teams at the end of the season qualify for the Champions League group stage, with the fourth placed team having to successfully negotiate a play-off round if they want to earn a place in one of the Champions League groups. The team in fifth place goes straight into the Europa League group stage and finishing sixth earns a spot in the Europa League qualifying round. So which teams are likely to be filling these places come the end of the season? The big four in German football in recent years has been Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04 and Bayern Leverkusen. Schalke and Leverkusen have had decent starts to their seasons and it is likely they will be vying for a top four spot again. As already stated, Dortmund have been on a run of poor form although over the season they should pick up and there is every chance they will finish in the top six. Other teams likely to put in a strong challenge for a European spot include Vfl Wolfsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach, both of which started the season in impressive form. While Bayern are head and shoulders above the competition at the moment, the other teams are fairly evenly matched and any of the teams mentioned above has a decent chance of grabbing a Champions League spot. Teams with an outside chance of making it in to one of the Europa League places are considered to be 1899 Hoffenheim and Hannover 96.

German Bundesliga Relegation

The bottom two teams are relegated each year, with the clubs that come up from the second division generally being the prime candidates to drop back down again. FC Koln and SC Paderborn were the two clubs that stepped up to the German Bundesliga for the 2014-15 season. Both have shown decent early season form to sit mid-table although they are likely to be there or thereabouts when relegation is decided at the end of the season. The third bottom team enters a play off against the third top team in the second division, with the winners of this earning the right to play in the top league. Hamburger SV ended up third from bottom last season and narrowly avoided relegation by taking victory in the play off game. They have started the season poorly and are more than likely to be fighting to avoid relegation again. Other teams that might struggle include SC Freiburg and Hertha BSC. When it comes to German Bundesliga tips, Paderborn is a likely candidate to fill one of the two automatic relegation places. This is their first time ever in the Bundesliga and they are a small team that does not really have the resources to survive. The second automatic relegation place and play-off spot are likely to be fought out by the other four teams mentioned above.
So there you have some Bundesliga predictions for the 2014-15 season, which is already underway and shaping up to be a great year of football. The odds-on forecast is that Bayern Munich will make it title number 24, with the only question being how close the challengers can get to them. The race for European places is likely to involve a number of clubs and this is also true for relegation. This should provide some exciting action for those who love betting on German Bundesliga.

German Bundesliga – Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart 24/09/2014

Borussia Dortmund news:

By conceding a goal in the first half, losing a penalty in 70′ to tie and ending with an own goal in the 74′, they completed a bad night at Mainz and finally lost 2-0.

It makes no sense to say that they were better than their opponent. These games hide such traps. Klopp’s team lacked freshness and pure mind. “We deserved to lose,” said the coach of the Westphalian. Tragic splurge was Immobile by losing a penalty, as well as Ginter with an own goal.

Generally these two newcomers have not yet stuck with the team. It remains to be seen if Dortmund is going to react with a good appearance, as they use to do after a negative result.

Stuttgart news:

The first victory did not come neither in the 5th official game. They had no substance in the game, only meaningless superiority. Guests had the way to score; they did so twice and won easily (2-0).

Armin Veh is supposed to return to put an order in Swabian but for now things have not changed at all. Four games without a win, which is missing for five months, only one goal in assets and not to forget the exclusion in the Cup at the beginning of the season.

Everything is going badly, in the worst start of Stuttgart in the last 15 years.

“I’d imagined things differently,” Veh admitted, but promised immediate improvement.

In order to regain this, the team must finally play more rationally in the attack, begin creating real chances and of course score.

German Bundesliga – Bayer Leverkusen vs Augsburg 24/09/2014

Bayer Leverkusen news:

The game at Wolfsburg went wrong from the beginning. Unfortunately, a penalty and a red card in the 8th minute were given against them who tied the score in 29′. They could not stand strongly in the game and lost 4-1.

The last ten days were the worst for the “aspirins”, which after the draw 3-3 to Werder Bremen, they defeated to Monaco in the Champions League and on Sunday they lost to “wolves” too. There is a mini crisis in the ‘aspirins’ club and they have to react calmly. Here we’ll see the skills of Roger Schmidt who must lift up the psychology of his players.

The match against Werder happens once in a time, they were unlucky at Monaco where they could not score and at Wolfsburg it was the bad luck too. If they look at it this way they’ll walk further, otherwise they will continue having bad psychology.

Augsburg news:

Although they were found themselves back in the score from the start of the game (3′) in the home game against Werder, although the latter replied in the overthrow by equalizing, Augsburg did not stuck and gained the victory 4-2.

Second consecutive win for Markus Weinzierl’s players who found their way just after the moment they were playing offensively.

The system works well having Molders at the top and Bobadilla at the wings, since most players enter the box and this way Augsburg becomes more threatening. Without having any pressure in the match against Leverkusen, Weinzierl appeared very optimistic.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Werder Bremen 12/09/2014

Bayer Leverkusen:

Two games into the Bundesliga season and Bayer Leverkusen are the team to catch. The currently sit at the top of the table following wins against Borussia Dortmund and Hertha Berlin. This, combined with convincing home and away victories against Copenhagen in the Champions League play-off, finds Bayer Leverkusen Players in a rich vein of form and they will be a tough nut to crack. Under new manager Roger Schmidt they will be hoping to get into the top three after threatening to do so for much of last season. Schmidt is a proponent of attacking football and has shown with his previous club, Red Bull Salzburg, that he knows how to get his teams playing consistently well. There could be some hope for Werder Bremen in the shape of Leverkusen’s defence. They conceded two goals against a struggling Hertha Berlin side and had previously lost two goals against a less than stellar Copenhagen team.

Werder Bremen:

Bremen have been underachieving in recent seasons. They finished a disappointing twelfth last season and haven’t troubled the upper reaches of the Bundesliga for some time. Once one of the leading lights of German football they are in danger of becoming perennial underachievers. Their indifferent start to the season is in stark contrast to Leverkusen’s trail blazing performances. A 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin was followed by a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim on match day two. However, as Hoffenheim currently sit in third place in the Bundesliga their draw may have been a better result than first thought. That said, it would be a surprise if they could get anything against Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Werder Bremen

Bayer Leverkusen vs Werder Bremen

The stats suggests that this will be nothing other than a Leverkusen win. Both teams have met a lot of times in Bundesliga but this match is different. This match is about a European competition and that changes everything. In this type of matches form is not the most crucial parameter for the final result. Passion is a very important factor that will count. Bremen have only managed to defeat Leverkusen once in their last ten meetings. Indeed you would have to go back to 2008 for the last time Bremen won at Leverkusen’s BayArena. It would take Leverkusen to have an off day and Bremen to exceed expectations for them to get a win this weekend, but if Werder Bremen put early pressure on Leverkusen’s leaky defence they could come away with a point.

German Bundesliga – Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg 22/08/2014

Bayern Munich news:

FC Bayern Munich have enormous injury and fitness worries over a number of players after a long World Cup.

Coach Pep Guardiola has lost a key player for his plan (Javi Martínez) and it remains to be seen how the team will deal with three left-footed players at the back.

Kicking off the new campionship, Bayern want to compete for the treble once again, which will not be an easy target given the recent circumstances.

Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thiago are injured and with Toni Kroos having left the team as well, Sebastian Rode could grab a chance to start next to Philipp Lahm in central midfield.

Wolfsburg news:

Wolfsburg wants to compete for a top-4 finish once more this term and strengthened the club in several areas.

The basic problem is still the absence of a top-class striker, though. It remains to be seen if Nicklas Bendtner can somehow fill this void.

Josuha Guilavogui, Luiz Gustavo and Junior Malanda compete for two spots in defensive midfield.

New transcriptions Hunt and Vierinha compete for a position on the right wing, while Ivan Perisic is out due to injury.

The German Cup Final – Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich 17/05/2014

Borussia Dortmund news:

At the beginning of the sezon they tried to get the paramountcy from Bayern Munich, they won the Super Cup, however very soon it was obvious that they had no necessary depth to the roster to do so.

Suffered from many injuries of important players and they could not keep up on all their targets. The more they payed attention to the Champions League the worst they performed in the German championship. Once they were eliminated from Real and focused on the championship, they did it great.

In the last game day they won Hertha Berlin 4-0. Lewandowski scored twice (41′, 80′), Jojic (44′) and Mkhitaryan (82′) scored too. Lewandowski reached his 20 goals and announced first goal scorer for the Bundesliga for this year.

Bayern Munich news:

They began the sezon with an unachievable target, something that no team had succeeded before, to make the treble for second consecutive season, having a new coach and new agonistic mindset.

They won the championship from March, easier than any other sezon but the painful exclusion from Real Madrid 4-0 upset the balance in the locker room.

There was a problem with the big scorer Mandzukic (26 goals in all competitions). Pep Guardiola left Mandzukic out of the team, boldly stating that the choice is his, the player had no injury problem. Especially he wished him good luck in the next club he will play.
